It is known that both external and hereditary factors influence posture development. However, the way they codertermine each other hasn't been defined yet. The aim of our research is to describe posture state by an analysis of inclination angles of backbone in sagittal plane. 116 female students (mean age – 18, 28 years) of Kalmykian State University have been observed. Goniometry, a method introduced by Gamburcev, allows to measure deflection angles of the spine column from the vertical axis. We used goniometry in addition to standard anthropometric program (about 50 indications). The constitution type was defined using Galant's scheme. Statistical analisys was performed with STATISTICA 6. 0 software. The analysis by constitution types showed that 38, 3% of Kalmykian students had mesoplastic, and 36, 5% had stenoplastic constitution. All the other types were represented by subathletic (11. 3%), pyknics (6. 9%), asthenic (4. 4%) and euriplastic type (2. 6%). The analysis of variance of different anthropometric characteristics by constitution types revealed some associations. According to their constitution, Kalmykian female students differ significantly (p<0. 05) in the form of legs and thorax, in the volume of muscles and adipopexis, and also in the sacro-pelvicale angle. Kalmykian girls also show different levels of spine deformation. Only 76. 7% seem not to have any posture abnormalities. 6. 9% suffer from severe scoliosis. Possible reasons of these differences will be discussed.
